Making healthcare easier to understand
Dr Eze Explains was created by Dr Nneka Eze, Consultant ENT Surgeon, to help children, young people and families understand what to expect when they come into contact with healthcare.

The idea developed from Dr Eze’s own clinical practice. Many of the questions families ask before an appointment, investigation or operation are very similar: What will happen? Will it hurt? What will the room look like? Who will I meet? What happens afterwards?
Dr Eze Explains was created to answer these questions in a simple, reassuring and visually engaging way.
The short animated videos explain common hospital experiences, investigations and procedures in language that patients and families can understand.
Although the project began with videos developed for Dr Eze’s own patients, the library is growing to cover a wider range of healthcare experiences and specialties.

About Dr Nneka Eze
Dr Nneka Eze is a highly experienced Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon who treats both adults and children.
She is committed to providing high-quality, thoughtful and individualised care, with clear communication at the heart of her clinical practice. Many of her patients come to her through personal recommendation, and she frequently looks after several members of the same family.
Her experience of caring for children and families has shown her how much difference good preparation can make. Patients often feel more confident when they understand what is going to happen, what they may see and what to expect afterwards.
It was this experience that led to the development of Dr Eze Explains — creating simple, engaging and clinically accurate videos to make healthcare easier to understand and less daunting for children, young people and their families.
